If you’re wondering why this site is named Test of Believers, it is because for a very long time I followed men who were blind and I didn’t realise they were not believers, as defined by Jesus Christ.  It’s so important to do the word of God exactly as it is written.

These were the last words of Jesus Christ on Earth before he ascended into heaven (missing from the NIV):

Mark 16:17-18 King James Version (KJV)

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

In the eyes of Jesus Christ, believers will have signs following them (notice prophecy is not one of the signs).  Of all the signs mentioned, the most important sign is the casting out of demons because it is the one sign that satan cannot do:

Matthew 12:26 King James Version (KJV)

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

Of course not everyone who casts out demons is a true believer.  However, if we do not or cannot cast out demons then something is missing in us: The Kingdom of God.  For if salt is without saltiness, there is no use for it.  We must have real power.  The reason why Jesus Christ came to the Earth is to set us free from sin even whilst we are on Earth.  And he has given us the power to cast out demons so we can be free and also to set the captives free.

Our faith does not stand on words of wisdom but in the power of the living God:

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 King James Version (KJV)

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

The first and best test of believers is to cast out demons, for it is written, the Lord works with believers and confirms their word with signs following:

Mark 16:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

If we do not apply the tests that Jesus laid down, we risk being misled by false teachers and false prophets.
