If you’re having trouble letting go of the things of the world, please watch this video:

We were made for Jesus Christ.  But He came to die for us!

Colossians 1:13-17 King James Version (KJV)

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And this is his example for us to follow:

Philippians 2:5-8 King James Version (KJV)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

When we’re cutting out sin from our lives, use the same mind as Jesus Christ.  That same mind of obedience and determination to go through and do the things of the Father:

1 Peter 4:1-2 King James Version (KJV)

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

If we’re doing this right, we will no longer be living our lives to do the things that we want to do (TV, movies, cartoons, smoking, getting drunk, porn, secular music, watching sports) and to live after the things of the world.

We will be doing the will of God.  And that is fully surrender to Jesus Christ by cutting out all sins, reading the word of God and then doing it by healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead and cleansing lepers in the name of Jesus Christ.
