Yes we are saved by grace alone but that does not mean we stop working. We work because we are debtors to God, not to earn salvation but because we are moved by love and compassion to set others free also. If we don’t work, we are like salt without savour. Don’t be fooled by the false grace gospel:
God uses the foolishness of preaching to reach the believers. He could’ve done saved people with dreams and visions if he wanted to. Or he could choose to use angels but instead he chose to use us earthen vessels. Why? Probably, so he can reward us in heaven. Here, God uses the foolishness of preaching:
1 Corinthians 1:21 King James Version (KJV)
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Philippians 2:12 King James Version (KJV)
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Strive to enter in the strait (narrow) gate. Try with all your strength to get in. If you are resting on your salvation, you are not striving to enter:
Luke 13:24 King James Version (KJV)
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
Testimony of a born again Christian who, in his own words, said he was going to hell. Don’t think that by calling yourself a Christian or calling Jesus Lord will save you.
