In case you missed it: If God is not real, our brains are merely fizzy cans of coke. There would be no reason not to grade different cans according to their intellectual or physical capacities. We could not respect someone just because they are. We must respect people depending on their looks, profession, how much they make, what they own and the experiences they’ve had. Once, I understood this. I understood how the world functioned. If you believe in God, you believe that man is made in the image of God. People deserve respect just because they ARE. We are not to grade humans the way we grade cattle because we are made in the image of the creator, each with unique capabilities and talents. |
